Jos – Despite the suspension of the planned three-day warning strike by labour, most schools did not open, yesterday, while workers did not either report for duties or reported late.
Most workers knew about the suspension of the strike Wednesday morning, making it difficult for them to get to work on time.
Some workers said they did not learn of the suspension until late in the morning because they did not listen to news and so could not make it to work.
Some other workers were said to have travelled out of town in anticipation of a long break from work.
All the public primary schools in Jos metropolis visited were closed as pupils did not turn up having been asked to stay at home by their teachers the previous day.
