Asaba— FOUR suspected armed robbers among a gang that had been terrorizing Kwale and its environs in Delta State for the past two months, met their waterloo, as youths of the area arrested them while robbing some traders travelling through Obiaruku to Onitsha, yesterday morning.
However, when the news of the robbery spread, banks in neighbouring Kwale, which had been targets of attacks, refused to open to customers.
Vanguard gathered that the robbery gang waylaid traders along Obiaruku/Utagbauno Road and robbed them of huge sums of money while some of the traders were wounded in the process.
But the youths of Obiaruku quickly mobilised in a show of gallantry by chasing the robbers into the bush where four of them were captured and disarmed.
At press time, police were said to have gone in search of a native doctor, whom the robbers confessed as their accomplice, who supplies them with charms.
Kwale and environs had been under siege as robbers had continuously launched attacks, both at the police station and banks.
