FG grants LADOL logistics base status

The Federal Government has granted the Lagos Deep Off Shore Logistics (LADOL) Base a logistics base status within the Apapa Pilotage district having fulfilled all the relevant guidelines and condition required for Oil and Gas logistics base.

Disclosing this to newsmen in Lagos recently, Chairman of LADOL Mr Ladipupo Jadesinmi said that with the approval as a logistics base, the firm is allowed to received two vessels per week.

According to Jadesinmi , LADOL which is privately driven is now a national asset that will turn the nation’s economy around on the long run.

Besides, LADOL’s new status will not only boost is clientele, it will also increase the volume of job oportunities for Nigerians with different skills

He stated that the management intend to make the logistics base so substantial such that other oil fields in the sub-region will serviced from Nigeria.

The logistics base boss disclosed that the firm is currently carrying out maintenance work on the biggest jack up rig where hundreds of skilled Nigerian technicians are working on.

Speaking in similar vein LADOL’s Managing Director Ms Eni Jadesinmi said that the ultimate aim to make ‘made in Nigeria’ goods and services a pride to every Nigerian.

She explianed that LADOL is just one of the many indigenoues firms that are struggling to make this vision a reality and urged the government to continuously support local initiatives with a view to making the Local Content a reality.

Eni stated the development of new infrastructure and facilities such as LADOL will benefit from the increasing number of new oil fields finds across the African continent as such initiatives will grow the economy.

“Norway, UAE, China, USA, U.K France, Germany, and other all grew their economies through strong government support for private indigenous development of facilities and services, Nigeria is on the same path to economic prosperity”.

he further explained that the more jobs that are domesticated in Nigeria, the less the capital flight that has been a source of concern to the government for some time.
