Mr. President, choose honest performers
I join millions of his well-wishers from across the country and the globe, in wishing President Jonathan God’s blessings as he begins soon, his four years as president of Nigeria. He won overwhelmingly because he worked hard to convince many Nigerians that he’s the best candidate at this point in time.
Speaker: Mulikat sounds good
By June 7 we will know who becomes the Speaker. It would have to be Mulikat Akande-Adeola or Muraina Ajibola. Two of them come from Oyo State: both of them are lawyers and are two-time representatives. As I have heard them out, the two of them are very articulate. Any of them will be a credit for the lower legislative chambers.

On Finding Myself
Flora Nwapa published Efuru in 1962, four years after Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart. I did not know all of this then at that age but I was fascinated that she was a writer because whatever else that occurred to me that African women could be, writing was not one of them. We had had career days right from kindergarten where we were exposed to all the available career options that awaited us

I hope to get to the point the world looks for me – Waje
I basically discovered that as a kid. I still remember what it felt like using my father’s screw driver as a microphone and my mother’s head tie as my long hair and the wall in our living room as my microphone stand. Every time I did that, my father would look at me helplessly because there were different holes I put there with my artificial microphone
Ohakim, Okorocha & the certainty of uncertainty (1)
There is an unstated or implicit consensus among ndi Imo, particularly those parts of old Imo State that constitute the present state, to the effect that since the late Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe’s governorship ended in 1983, the state has never witnessed purposeful, people-oriented, governance. In other words, the administration of Mbakwe remains the gold standard for judging the performance of any administration in Imo State.
Love rats never reform!
There are some experiences you would have laughed at as being ludicrous if they hadn’t happened to you. For two years, Michelle, a 30-year-old IT analyst was blissfully in love with her man of two years. She was more financially well off than he was but after a year together, Anthony, her beau, convinced her he wasn’t a gold-digger. According to her, “Watching him help out at my house, decorating and helping with my cars convinced me that perhaps we did have a future together. So, when he started urging me to start making wedding plans, I was very excited. He was a very handsome man with whom I was sure we would make lovely babies.
