AWKA – FIRST Republic Minister of Aviation, Chief Amechi Mbazuruike, has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to reciprocate the unconditional massive support given to him by the South-East at the polls by appointing people from the zone into key positions in his administration.
Speaking in an interview in Awka, Amechi said such demand was justified, adding that every Igbo was watching with keen interest what would be the benefit of the zone in the Jonathan presidency.
Referring to the ongoing agitations for certain key political positions in the country by the South-East, the elder statesman said: “We (Igbo) gave President Jonathan unconditional massive support during the just concluded election, believing and hoping that he will not shortchange us.
“In fact, Igbo across the country gave the President stronger support than his zone because we believe he is our son. We expect him as our own to re-write the wrongs and injustices done against Igbo by previous administrations.
“The Onitsha-Owerri road project awarded over 10 years is yet to be completed.”
