Shema back as Katsina gov

 BY EMMAN OVUAKPORIE

KATSINA-PERCEIVED inability to reach a consensus on a popular candidate has cost the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, the Katsina Government House as it trailed behind the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Tuesday’s governorship and state House Assembly elections.

PDP polled 1,27,915 while CPC secured 565,769 votes  in the 34 local governments of the state. CPC chewed more than it could swallow when last week Wednesday an Appeal Court sitting in Abuja, nullified the candidature of Senator Yakubu Lado and Col. Abdulazeez Yar’Adua and were replaced with ex- Speaker of House of Representatives Bello Masari who the people were said to have sworn never to vote for if fielded.
