Ilorin – The  Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,  in Kwara, Saturday said elections into some federal constituencies in the state will not hold as scheduled.

INEC Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Jacob Ayanda, said  elections into the Senate in Kwara Central and Kwara South Senatorial districts were  suspended by the commission because of shortage of ballot papers.

The spokesman said up till Saturday morning, the commission had not received some sensitive materials to be used for the elections in the affected parts of the state.

He told  the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the election for  Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal constituency was also suspended.

Ayanda said the election into the federal constituency was suspended because the name of Dr Olusegun Ayobamidele of DPP, who was validly nominated, was omitted by the commission.
