IN a bid to enhance efficiency and productivity in cleaner energy and fluid process, Viessmann, an international leader in the production of heating systems, has revealed that it has selected Siemens PLM Software’s technology to enhance process efficiency and increase productivity of cleaner energy.
Meanwhile, Viessmann noted that its heat generators for all energy sources produce 1.5 to 20,000 kW and are available for houses, maisonettes and apartment blocks, trade and industry and for local heating networks.
The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Viessmann IT service GmbH, Dr. Herald Dornbach disclosed this in a statement delivered to Vanguard recently, noting that until a few years ago, Viessmann’s strategy was focused on organic growth through innovation and globalization and due to the structural changes in heating technology towards renewable energies, this strategy was expanded and smaller-scale specialists were acquired.
According to him, “Our growth strategy enabled us to extend the reach of our technological basis at the right speed, and to react promptly to changing market requirements.”
However, he noted that the acquisitions, while successful, created a mixed IT landscape comprising of a number of systems and with the switch to Team center and NX, they are replacing an older infrastructure, and at the same time establishing a homogeneous, global IT environment to help deliver better processes and increased productivity.
Dombach added that Viessmann selected Siemens PLM Software’s solutions following an extensive benchmark process, taking into account all design and data management functions.
As part of the evaluation process, CAD data was migrated from old records and from numerous acquired companies to test the openness of the solution. In the Data Management unit, the company conducted in-depth checks to test the installation of the solution.
Siemens PLM Software’s solutions topped products from well-known competitors in the test trials and were the clear winners. The success in the benchmark process further solidified an already established relationship with the customer.
“The Viessmann Group is an international leader in the production of heating systems. Founded in 1917, with the family company, managed by its board under the chairmanship of CEO Dr. Martin Viessmann with a Total revenue rounding off to 1.6 billion euros with a workforce of some 8,900 employees.
Viessmann is international in nature, with 16 plants in Germany, France, Canada, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland and China, sales organizations in 37 countries and 120 sales offices around the world. It earns 54 per cent of its revenue overseas. Viessmann has the right system solution for any use,” he said.
The Senior Vice president and Managing Director, Germany, Siemens PLM Software, Urban August, added that Siemens PLM Software’s technology enables companies to consolidate design and development on a single open platform and provides a scalable solution that can grow with the company and enhance innovation every step of the way.
“Siemens PLM Software is committed to helping leading customers, like Viessmann, as they evolve their business model to meet market demands. Team center promotes innovation and productivity by bonding people and processes through a single source for product and process knowledge.
The extensive portfolio of proven digital life cycle management solutions in Team center is based on an open architecture enabling an end-to-end PLM strategy. NX is a leading solution for computer-aided design (CAD), manufacturing (CAM) and engineering analysis (CAE), and is used throughout the world in the development of highly sophisticated products.” he said.
