By  Gbenga Oke
Governorship Candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Rivers State, Dr Abiye Sekibo, has again accussed the Rivers State government of frustrating his campaigns in the state, adding that the intimidation and harassment of the Action Congress of Nigerian, ACN, in the state was unfortunate.

Sekibo in a statement, yesterday, urged President Goodluck Jonathan and the Inspector General of Police to call the governor to order over the closure of ACN campaign offices in  the state.

The statement by Director of Media, Sekibo Campaign Organisation, Mr Jerry Needam,  said “in furtherance to his desperation and calculated moves to frustrate the campaigns of the ACN, gubernatorial candidate for Rivers State, Dr  Sekibo, the Rivers State Governor, Mr Chibuike  Amaechi, has given a standing order to all government institutions in the state to make sure that none of the public insfrastructures in the state is made available for the campaign rallies of the ACN.”

“Accordingly, the governor has also directed all local government chairmen in the state to make sure they do not allow the ACN hold a rally in their domain and our intelligent source who was privy to a stakeholders meeting of the PDP held at the Government House, Port Harcourt hinted us that the directive by the governor also asked the council chairman to forthwith close all the campaign offices of Dr Abiye Sekibo and all the ACN offices in their respective LGAs, citing non payment of tenement rates” he stated.
