Airtel launches Easy Recharge

As competition continues to dictate the pace of tariff billings for operators in the Nigeria telecom sector, Airtel Nigeria has ones again announced another innovative package aimed at reducing cost and time spent in recharging GSM phones.

This is coming just two months after launching the Airtel brand in the country, and after launching its 2Good offer, where the network operator allows its customers to make calls at 20k per second, flat across all networks and to the USA. This is  after the first minutes of the day at 60k per second was removed.

Unveiling the new package in Lagos on Monday, the Chief Executive Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Rajan Swaroop said “as part of 2Good, we are taking another bold step in our journey of redefining freedom in the telecommunications experience in Nigeria. We also want to identify with the local and unique experience of Wazobia as original Nigerian expression that captures the heart and spirit of the people. We therefore want to identify with such local and relevant and unique expression of the Nigerian spirit,” said Swaroop.

The product launch saw the unveiling of  N50 electronic recharge card (Wazobia Recharge), a  new flexible airtime recharge service of Airtel with any denomination from as low as N50 through its electronic platform and , also introducing our N50 recharge paper voucher.

According to the Airtel CEO, the Wazobia recharge will further empower existing and potential Airtel Customers across the country, offering them more continence, flexibility, freedom, and ease in recharging their phones with airtime.

Wazobia Recharge is a denominationless electronic recharge service which offers customers a unique opportunity to recharge their phones and those of their friends and family members without having to scratch cards.

With the launch of the product, Airtel all retailers will be empowered to make the various recharge denominations available from as N50. Customers can also recharge with any value that is convenient and affordable for them.
