A PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP, female aspirant for Ika federal constituency in the National Assembly, Dr. Isioma Okobah, has donated hospital equipment worth N100million to Central Hospital Agbor and four health centers in Ika South Council Area.

The other benefitting health centers include Emuhu Health Center, Ute Ogbeje, Health Centre, Igbodo Community Health Center, and Uweifo Community Orthopedic Nursing Home, Ewuru.

The items donated include, scanning machine, blood pressure measuring kits, stretchers, wheel chairs, hospitals beds, glucometer, incubation tubes, scalp veins, urinary catheters, face masks, cord clamps for new born babies, mattresses, gausses, disposable gowns, mucus extractors, gynecological instruments, pap smears, cobio’s speculum, syringes, and bandages among others.

Presenting the items, Dr. Okobah said the gesture was borne out of the need to give back the society saying that as a medical doctor, she understood the challenges faced by doctors, in their bid to save lives.

Dr. Okobah said health in Ika community is her number one priority adding that when people are healthy, they could make meaningful contributions to their families and the society at large.

She urged the management of the benefitting hospitals and health centers to make good use of the equipments and ensure good maintenance.

She promised to work towards the upgrading of the central hospital  to a teaching hospital if given the mandate  to represent the people Ika federal constituency in national Assembly.

Receiving the items on behalf of the management, the medical doctor, central hospital Agbor, Dr. B.C Okonkwo commended the kind gesture of Doctor Isioma Okobah, describing her as a genuine philanthropic daughter of Ika Land .

Dr. Okonkwo said the hospital still faces a lot of challenges, and called on public spirited Nigerians to emulate the example already set by Dr. Okobah in the collective determination to guard against loss of lives especially as the festive season approaches.

Receiving the items at the Uweifo Community Orthopedic Nursing Home Ewuru, the community leader Pa Dike Uwade thanked Dr. Okobah for the king gesture saying that the people have not witnessed such philanthropic gesture from an aspirant seeking to represent the people at any level.

While praying for Dr. Okobah to succeed in her political ambition, the community leader challenged other aspirants to take a queue from  the female aspirant.

Similar donations were made by Dr. Okobah at the Emuhu, Igbodo  and Ute_Ogbeje community health centers in  in Ika North East Local Government Area.
