Pensioners raise alarm over biometric exercise

By Dayo Johnson

AKURE—PENSIONERS under the umbrella of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners, NUP, in Ondo State, have raised alarms that over 2,000 of them were not registered during the recent biometric exercise conducted in the state.

Addressing newsmen after their meeting in Akure, they rejected the new biometric enrollment for pensioners ordered by the office of Head of Service of the Federation.

The Chairman of NUP in the state, Chief Eni Olotu, who also doubled as the South West Chairman of the union, said the inability of the pensioners to be registered was as a result of lack of enough manpower and equipment brought to the state during the exercise.
