To make good her word, as we reported exclusively to you in July, MTV’s only Nigerian VJ, Cynthia Cvon Okpala, has tied the knot officially with her 34 year old lover, Ozoemena Mbanefo, last Saturday in Lagos.
The quiet wedding which took place at the Sheraton hotel and was attended by a handful of close friends and family was officiated by Pastor Ben Kpongo; a Minister from the Dominion City Church, Lagos, where the couple met and worship.
The pair were engaged on the 12th of June this year and got married Saturday, 23rd November, three days before Cynthia’s 25th birthday.
By Wednesday, when news of her wedding broke on line, messages poured in torrents on the VJ’s wall even though she her Facebook name still read Cynthia Cvon Okpala and her relationship status was blank. The only line that would have served as clue had been changed. And that was her status which stayed on till Tuesday (her birthday) but changed on Wednesday. It read “1 + 1 = 1″.
It is not clear if the couple are in the country at the moment as details of the couple’s honeymoon have been kept secret.
Guests at the wedding included: Ice Prince, Deji Falope, Steve Babaeko, Yetunde Babaeko, Ayo Animashaun, Ayeni Adekunle, Sam Onyemelukwe, J Martins and Charles Novia.
The bride arrived the venue in a Toyota Prado at exactly 11.30am and looked flawless in her floor-length white wedding gown.
At exactly 12.15PM, the officiating minister from Dominion City Church, Pastor Ben Kpongo, joined the couple after which they both signed the register shortly before the wedding reception followed at same venue.
