2011: Aspirant assures on effective representation

WARRI – AS the nation moves towards the 2011 general elections,  a senatorial aspirant in Delta South District, Mr. Sunny Ogwilaya, has promised to give the people effective representation at the National Assembly.

Addressing supporters from all parts of Isoko nation, who gathered at  Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Ogwilaya, who formally declared his ambition under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said that the time for positive change has come.

The aspirant with investment in both the private and public sectors said his primary areas of concern would be youth and women empowerment and infrastructural development to complement Governor Uduaghan’s three-point agenda.

He later paid a courtesy visit on His Royal Highness Francis Onovughakpo, the Odion of Emevor Kingdom and his chiefs to inform them of his ambition, following which the royal father prayed for his success at the polls.

“Isoko nation is yet to experience national impact.  I have an undying hunger to see a developed Isoko land.  I cannot do it alone, hence I have come for your support.  I want your mandate so that together we can develop the state and our land. As a person it will be difficult for me to do this but with your support and the empowerment, I can achieve a great result,” he said while declaring his ambition.

“The mandate is for Delta South, I will not disappoint you, I have come to you as a son. I have consulted with the two other ethnic groups, there shall be equity and fairness, and no ethnic nation will be neglected. It does not matter when a man is born, what matters is how he is able to impact his people,” he added.

Mr. Fidelis Useh, PDP Chairman in the area, said “I am glad today, there is a difference between my own and our own. We will stand behind your, we will give you our support, we know that you can perform, you have a track record of selflessness. We know that all Isoko people are behind you, we know that the other ethnic groups are solidly behind you.”

Mr. Ogwilaya,  who also visited Warri, urged Ijaw and Itsekiri leaders present to unite behind him as he assured that more dividend of democracy would be the benefit of his emergence as the Senator representing the South senatorial district in Delta State.
