Stop compensation demand, Agip community warned

The people of Labolouseigha community in Burutu Local Government Area in Delta State, have warned residents of Ogorigbene fishing camp, also known as Ekrekegbene and Tamogbene camp, to stop demanding for compensation from Nigerian Agip Oil Company.
They alleged that the said fishing camp was not regarded as an autonomous community by the Delta State government but a fishing camp owned by natives of Labolouseigha and Oytangbene communities.

A statement by Mr Simon Oguma and  Alfred Ogudu, President and Public Relations Officers respectively, said  that it was necessary to set the record straight because of  the activities of those residing in the said fishing camp.

The statement alleged that those residing in the fishing camp are natives of both Oyangbene and Labolousegha communities, adding that the Nigeria Agip Oil Company has paid compensations to both communities, hence, no other person or group, therefore has the right to ask for further compensation.
