Police arrest UNN student for alleged kidnap

The police in Enugu have arrested a third year medical rehabilitation student of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, (name withheld) believed to have masterminded the kidnap of his course mate, Miss Ifeoma Azubuike, in April this year.

According to the state police public relations officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, the student was arrested in Enugu following his indictment by some of the suspects earlier apprehended for allegedly kidnapping the student who was rescued from the palace of the traditional ruler of Oruku in Nkanu East local government area after spending five days in captivity.

The police spokesman said that the student was a member of the eight-man gang who were earlier apprehended and charged to court for kidnapping and armed robbery.

 He said that the student, now undergoing interrogation at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad office, would soon be charged to court.
