As the interrogation of the NFA board members continues by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, former Stationery Stores coach Kashimawo Laloko has urged the EFCC to do a good job.
According to him, probing the likes of former president of the board Sani Lulu, Taiwo Ogunjobi ,Amanze Ucheagbulam, Bolaji Ojo-Oba and the acting president Alhaji Aminu Maigari would help reveal much of the corruption that has bedeviled the football house.
Speaking to Saturday Vanguard Sports via telephone, Laloko said anyone holding crucial position on the board should be probed for people to know how things were managed and done in the house. He however, said not every one on the board should be checked because anything that is approved is usually accepted by the head.
“I think what is happening in the football house is worth it. For so long, corruption has eaten deep into the NFA and nobody cared to find out how these things happened. Even the case of the missing money appears to have been swept under the carpet.
I thank God that some things are now beginning to come out. “I believe people holding high position on the board should be properly investigated especially on the aspect of finance this will do a whole lot of good for the house and also for public consumption,†he said.
Isima wants all NFA board members to face EFCC
Former Green Eagles player Okey Isima is of the view that every member of the Sani Lulu-led NFA board should be properly investigated in order for more exposures to be made in the football house.
Isima believes that with the recent probing of former NFA chairman Sani Lulu Abdullahi, first vice chairman Amanze Ucheagbulam, Taiwo Ogunjobi and Bolaji Ojo-Oba, nobody should be exempted from the board, especially as they are part of the house.
In a chat with Saturday Vanguard Sports, Isima said in as much as they are part of the board, there is every tendency for them to be checked properly. “It is the right thing to do bringing every member of the board to talk on how things went in the football house. How they have been working for Nigerians in the past. I think every member should be made to defend himself or herself before we can say they are right to be there.
If not for what happened at the World Cup where our players fumbled, nobody would have known what is going on in the Glasshouse. In NFA, everybody is a suspect. For me, I think we need a clean house and for that to take effect things need to be put right.
Though there are still good ones but then everybody needs to be re-elected. Nobody is supposed to be there unless he is re-elected,†Isima said.
