FOR its commitment to quality, leadership, technology and innovation, a Nigerian firm involved in the supply of animal health drugs and livestock feed supplements — Kony Nigeria Enterprises have been given the international quality summit award in the Gold category by the Business Initiative Directions (B.I.D) in New York.

The Managing Director/CEO of Kony Enterprise, Mr Tony Obidulu, disclosed that the award represents success for Nigeria in the business world, as the International Quality Summit (IQS) award acknowledges strong commitment to quality and excellence.

President and CEO of B.I.D, Mr. Jose Prieto, who presented the award in the New York Marriott Marquis convention hall, during the 2010 international quality award, said the BID quality symbol is present in 178 countries around the world, creating a firm ground for the implementation of integral quality processes through the technology and procedures of the QC100 model of total quality management.

“The awarded companies are symbols of commitment to leadership, technology, and innovation, making them models for others in their sectors. The companies from Europe, America, Africa, Asia, the far East, Oceania, and the Middle East received the B.I.D International Quality Award in recognition of their achievements in spreading quality culture.

According to Obidulu, the award came like a shock to him, he said he was sent invitation four times, but he taught it was a scam, not until he was called from New York and went for the award ceremony that he believed.

“Am really happy that Kony Nig. Enterprise is recognised with a prestigious award like this, i got the invitation four times but i taught it was a scam, so i ignored it, not until i was called from New York, that i believed it was for real.

I am dedicating this award to the Nigerian youths, i want them to believe and work towards a brighter future, they should desist from all this fraudulent acts like kidnapping, 419, yahoo scams and other undignifying acts. We have a lot of potential youths that can help grow this nations economy so why destroy your youth, when you can turn the economic situation around for the better” he stated.
