Grains: Lagos introduces standard measurement

LAGOS—Lagos State government through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has introduced standard measurement bowls to market men and women in the state.
Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Prince Adeniyi Oyemade, introduced the bowls to the market women recently at the premises of the Iyaloja-General in Ikeja.

Prince Oyemade urged marketers to embrace the bowls as a standard measuring instrument and assured them that the use of the bowls would not in anyway affect their profit because they were accurately made and considered suitable for the business.

Noting that the bowls were durable and reliable for the measurement of any form of grain, he assured consumers that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry would continue to initiate ideas and decisions to protect both sellers and buyers in Lagos.

The Commissioner said the measuring bowls had the state crest on them as an identification symbol to help the market women differentiate the original from the fake ones.
