ACAMB engages stakeholders in public lecture

In a concrete move to deepen the knowledge base of the Nigerian stakeholders on contemporary banking issues affecting local and international market inter-plays, the Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks (ACAMB) in collaboration with The Banker, London, a foremost and influential publication of the Financial Times, UK has concluded arrangements to hold a public lecture on the topic: “The Challenges Facing Banks Globally – How Nigerian Stakeholders should respond”.

A statement from ACAMB stated that the need to bridge the knowledge gaps and equip players in the Nigerian financial space in the wake of the new reforms by the regulators could better be appreciated through a comparative study of global trends shared across broad multi-disciplinary backgrounds.

The Association noted that the public lecture which is scheduled for Tuesday, 27th July, 2010 at Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Kofo Abayomi, Victoria Island, Lagos from 11.00am, will be addressed by Mr. Brian Caplen, an international erudite financial analyst and the Managing Editor, The Banker, London, while the guest speaker’s presentation will be reviewed by the duo of Nigerian leading financial technocrats, Dr. Rewane Bismarck, MD/CE, Deriviatives Limited and Dr. Doyin Salami of Lagos Business School.

The statement added that major stakeholders/players in the various sectors cutting across capital market, manufacturing, oil and gas, academia, labour, judiciary, media, professional bodies, legislature, government at all levels and investing publics, would be allowed to take far reaching positions on challenges confronting their sectors vis-à-vis banking practice at the Lecture.
