N6bn scam: EFCC denies interrogating Jang’s son

ABUJA— THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has denied that it was investigating the son of the Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, over an alleged N6billion fraud.

EFCC’s Head, Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Babafemi, told Vanguard, that speculations about such an investigation were false.

He said: “I am not aware of such a development as people need to be wary of such a story at this particular period.”
The first family in Plateau was said to have been angered by a publication (not in Vanguard) purporting that the Governor’s son was involved in an alleged N6 billion fraud via government contracts.

Sources close to the Plateau State first family also told the Vanguard that the publishers might be sued for damages and defamation of character if they failed to retract the publication.
