Frank Osodi, Manash models catwalks for Allure Style Icons

Designers and models last weekend in Lagos, gathered at the Atlantic Beach Centre to honour Allure Style Icons 2009, Pastor Paul Adefarasin and Ms. Grace Egbagbe. Celebrity designer fondly referred to as King of Bustier, Frank Osodi and Lekki based Monash, put up a fantastic mini show that really excited the guests.

The show done in two segments opened with Monash who featured a collection of eclectic designs. Her outfits were laden with ethnic flavour as ankara featured prominently in her collection. The inexpensive cotton fabric took a leap as they were delicately embellished with sequins, giving it high street flavour that was totally up beat and city chic.

Short dresses ruled her collection a tribute to current trend. Each piece could be dressed down or dressed up as the case may be.

Known for understanding the woman’s body form, whether casual or glamorous, Frank’s attention to fit is unrivaled. His collection featured designs that reveal his versatility both with fabrics and designs. He worked with satin, lace, organza and ankara sometimes a combination of one or two fabrics.

His first collection featured short skirts and elegant tops including his specialty bustier in bold red colour that gave vibrancy to the design. While the design may be simple, one cannot ignore the detailed ball sleeve in lilac satin or the big flair sleeve in black organza.

His second collection was more alluring, graceful and regal and the models did justice to them as they walked the makeshift runway in long evening dresses, evening skirt and top as well as satin trouser suit with embellished details.

It was an appreciative audience who cheered both designers as they took a bow, escorted by the models.
