Last week, the champagne house Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin hosted guests in Nigeria to a series of events to mark the visit of Pierre Casenave, an expert oenologist and champagne specialist, from Reims in the Champagne region of France.
During his visit to Nigeria, Pierre Casenave met and dined with personalities spanning the media and hospitality sectors. On Wednesday June 16th, Veuve Clicquot hosted a champagne lunch cocktail for special friends of the brand in the media at Medici Restaurant in Victoria Island. The guests, including Remi Diagbare of Vanguard, Gbenga Ashiru of MADE Magazine and Olisa Adibua of Beat FM, engaged in a champagne tasting session with Mr. Casenave, the first specialist of his kind to visit Nigeria from Veuve Clicquot.
On Thursday June 17th, Mr. Casenave hosted the proprietors of some of Nigeria’s leading hotels and restaurants to a fine-dining experience also at Medici Restaurant. He shared a wealth of technical knowledge on the science of winemaking, and dined with guests including Mr. Nahel Mansour, Owner of Medici Restaurant, and Mr. Peter Pederson, GM of Intercontinental Hotel, whilst introducing them to the flavours and food-pairing qualities of Veuve Clicquot’s range of champagnes. Below are pictures from the two events.
