NETCO completes Egina project

National Engineering and Technical Company (NETCO) a subsidiary of NNPC has successfully completed the Egina Front End Engineering Design (FEED) project.

NETCO was responsible for the design of the Topsides Modules less the piperack approximately 34,000 metric tons in weight.

This, according to the company is the biggest FEED ever carried out by NETCO or any other company in Nigeria.
Tupni, a subsidiary of Total awarded the contract to NETCO / BATELITWIN in a joint venture arrangement in June 2009 and the project was completed in April 2010 on time, on schedule and within budget.

A total manhour of 95, 824 was spent on the project while total manning at peak was 84 personnel.
Speaking at the end of project get together and hand over ceremony of project deliverables, the Managing Director NETCO, Engr. Kenneth Ejuoneatse said NETCO is happy to be a part of the Egina Feed Project adding that the seamless interface between other participating local engineering companies on the project went a long way in ensuring the completion of the FPSO scope.

Also speaking at the impressive ceremony, the TUPNI Project Director, Mr. Henry Delafon and EGINA Project Director, Mr. Michael Sers congratulated NETCO on the successful completion of the project and the fact that NETCO demonstrated that this amount of work can be carried out in Nigeria by Nigerians.

NETCO has worked on similar projects in the past and they include the BONGA Project, ERHA Project and Agbami Project.

NETCO said it looks forward to being given consideration during the next phase of the project which is the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation phase of the project.
