Ajilore who made his Eagles debut in November 2008 against Colombia submitted that he never envisage that he would be dropped from the party World Cup. That not withstanding, he wished the Eagles well in South Africa.
“It was a surprise to me that I was not included in the team. I was looking forward to playing for Nigeria the World Cup, but the coach knows better,†said the 6ft.2inches central midfielder who plays for FC Groningen of Holland.
He stated the Eagles needed the best players Nigeria have as the South Africa 2010 would be a difficult task.
“Those guys the coach selected look okay to me. They can do Nigeria proud, but everyone must have to put their heart into it.,â€said Ajilore who scored two goals at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
However, Ajilore who played four games for the Eagles stated that he was not bittered by the coach Lars Lagerback’s heart break.
“I have gotten over it. In a way I’m happy, because it is an opportunity for me to go on holiday. For two years I have been playing football and no break.â€
