ONE of the finest defenders Nigeria ever produced, Yisa  Shofoluwe, is alarmed over the poor quality preparation given the Super Eagles ahead of next month’s World Cup in South Africa.

As Nigeria prepares to hoist her flag amongst the best football playing nations in the world, Sofoluwe a.k.a dean of defence, says he cannot fathom the confusion  that has shrouded the plan towards the event.

“It is very important that when you are going to the World Cup there should be sufficient plans to get the team prepared ahead. Right now I have not seen any form of preparation like friendly matches. By now the team should have played about three or four  matches to strengthen them.

“I can’t believe that we are still struggling and battling on a friendly match with just some weeks to go, this goes to shows that there is no preparation and seriousness for a competition like the World Cup. Other countries have been doing their best trying in one way or the other to get set for the competition, for us we are nowhere to be found,” Shofoluwe said

When asked about the chances of Nigeria  following the poor preparation,   Sofoluwe said with level of preparation done in the team that it will be pretty difficult for them to go far in the competition.

“It is simple, there is no magic for anybody or team to just wake up and embark on a World Cup journey  without  preparation. It is just like writing an examination without reading, Of course, automatically it call for failure, that is what it is with our team,” he concluded.
