Imo reshuffles cabinet

OWERRI — The much  awaited cabinet shake-up in  Imo State has been finally announced by Governor Ikedi Ohakim.

According to a Government House statement, yesterday, by the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Chief Cosmas Iwu, only eight members of the State Executive Council, swapped positions in the minor cabinet reshuffle.

An impeccable Government House source told Vanguard that the shake-up was announced during  Monday’s exco meeting and all the affected Commissioners were ordered to complete the handover and takeover formalities on or before the close of work, today.

When Vanguard visited the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport yesterday to confirm  the information, Mr. Ralph Nwosu, who was moved from the Ministry of Public Utilities and Rural Development to Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, had taken charge.

Mrs. Comfort Chukwu was posted to Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Chief Livy Oguike, Ministry of Economic Planning, Mrs. Ngozi Anyikwa now takes charge of Ministry of Public Utilities and Rural Development, while  Dr. Geff Ojinika, Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Planning.

Others are Kelechi Okpaleke, Dr. Amanze Obi and Chief Chuma Nnaji, who were moved to Information and Strategy, Culture and Tourism and Special Duties, respectively.
