Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Lagos Business School, Dr. Christopher Kolade, is slated to deliver the keynote address at the 5th ZUMA Film Festival, holding from 2th of May through 6th at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

Kolade will be speaking on “Global Images, Global Voices”, as the theme of this year’s festival.

Addressing the media during the unveiling ceremony of ZUMA Logo, in Lagos recently, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NFC, Mr. Afolabi Adesanya, said this year’s festival will be celebrated under the theme,  “Global Images, Global Voices”, which he explained is a major activity of the NFC,  designed to provide a platform for the recognition and reward of excellence and creativity in the Nigerian motion picture industry and other film cultures around the globe.

According to Adesanya, Professor Adam Abdalla Uba of the Bayero University, will chair the opening ceremony of the event, which will witness papers presentations, film essay competitions with the topic “Building a Positive Global Brand: The Place of the Film”. The  competition, NFC boss, said will witness a presentation of cash awards/certificates to the deserving students for the 2009/2010 edition.

Also, there will be general film screening, film market, workshops and exhibition, in addition to  screening of film projects of the EU-media backed Babylon international workshop (on film), which is being promoted by German Scripthouse, UK Scanario Films and NFC, amongst other activities lined up for the festival.
