Odimegwu’s wife released

By Chidi Nkwopara
Mrs. Stella Odimegwu, the wife of former Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Dr. Festus Odimegwu, was late afternoon Thursday, released by her abductors.

Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aloysius Okorie, who confirmed the story in a telephone interview, did not however say if any ransom was paid by the family or not.

“I can only confirm that the woman rejoined members of her family this afternoon (Thursday) but I am not in a position to confirm or deny if her family paid any ransom or not”, the Imo police boss said.

When asked to say where she was dropped by her abductors, Mr. Okorie said he could not immediately tell, adding that the most important thing is that she is back to her family.

Vanguard recalls that Mrs. Odimegwu was kidnapped last Sunday when she was attending a church service in her country home, Asa Ubirielem, Orsu Local Council Area of Imo State.
