ABA—Determined to check epileptic power supply and make life comfortable for both lecturers and students in Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, the state government has approved the supply of a new electric transformer for the institution.
The Rector, Elder Allwell Onukaogu made the disclosure while commissioning a 350kva power generating set purchased by the school.
Onukaogu who said the acquisition of the N8.14m power plant was as a result of inefficient power supply from the PHCN, added that the installation of the generating set was aimed at sustaining the developmental strides of the institution.
Onukaogu recalled that recently, the institution had serious problem when public power was in short supply as most of the programmes that required enough energy to be operated, had to be suspended.
