LAGOS — A THIRD Republic Senator and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Levi Nwokeafor, has called for caution on condemnations trailing the process that produced Dr Goodluck Jonathan as Acting President.
He said what was needed was collective support for Jonathan to address basic national issues within the limited time he has.
Senator Nwokeafor also called on the Acting President to be cautious of sycophants who might pretend to mean well for him and the nation.
At news briefing, in Lagos, Nwokeafor implored the National Assembly to address sections of the constitution that contributed to the tension that trailed ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua’s absence.
According to him, “what I will say is that, we shall continue to give Goodluck Jonathan nothing, but our prayers. He needs it to succeed. That would bring about a sense of direction. The seven-point agenda should not be an issue now. What is needed is to help the acting president achieve the basic needs of this country. We need the collapsed infrastructures fixed. This is where the issue of power becomes necessary.â€
