Don’t rubbish Ibru dynasty, Ijaw group warns

The Ijaw Monitoring Group, IMG, has condemned an alleged plan by a cabal to rubbish the business empire of the Ibru dynasty.

Addressing newsmen in Lagos, yesterday, IMG Co-ordinator, Comrade Joseph Evah, said that the present banks’ reforms being carried out has hidden agenda. He added that the same “cabal is manipulating the Constitution in the name of the Rule of Law to deny a son of the South-South from being sworn-in as acting President”.

“The same people are bent on using banking reforms to change ownership of the banks,” he added.

According to the Ijaw group, the Ibru family has contributed in no small measure to the growth of Nigerian economy over the years, adding that any attempt to rubbish all that the Ibru clan stands for through the banking reforms will be resisted.

He said, “we are further alerting Nigerians and the international community that the cabal has added to their agenda every means necessa-ry to rubbish the Ibru business empire.

“We want to warn that the Niger Delta people will resist any attempt to rubbish Ibru business empire that was established globally over the decades. The activities these people in the last two weeks have exposed their plan to poison the business world that anybody bearing the name of Ibru is fraudulent.

“If the former Chairman of First Bank, Alhaji Mutalab whose son was involved in bombing attempt, was from the South-South, the government would have used that excuse to bomb his community and destroy his business network.”
