Nigerian Red Cross restructures

ABUJA — THE Nigerian Red Cross Society has embarked on a restructuring exercise to position the organisation for a quicker response to emerging challenges in humanitarian works.

The exercise which affected its governance and the management arms saw the chairman of the Lagos State branch, Deacon Timothy Oladele, taking over as the national vice president.

His elevation was effected at a recent meeting of the Central Council Executive Committee of the Red Cross in  Abuja.

Deacon Oladele, who is also chairman of the society’s establishment sub-committee, in his acceptance speech, reiterated his commitment to the principles of the Red Cross.
