By  Vincent Ujumadu

AWKA—The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) in Anambra State  has named Governor Peter Obi the recipient of its 2009 Honours Award.

ANCOPSS said the meritorious award, which would be bestowed on the Governor at its end of year party scheduled for December 10, was in recognition of Obi’s accomplishments and sterling leadership.

Conveying the news of Obi’s nomination in a letter jointly signed by Carol Ikeabbah, President; E.U. Ezeuzo, Secretary and C.E. Osakwe, Chairman, Organizing Committee, the association said “having simultaneously turned around all the sectors of development in Anambra State, you have unarguably restored people’s confidence in governance.”

It noted that the education sector had never had it so good, adding that  science laboratories have been refurbished and equipped and boreholes sunk in schools and generators provided.
