Fuel scarcity grounds Benue

By Taye Obateru

MAKURDI — Commercial and business activities in Benue State have been completely crippled by hard-biting scarcity of petroleum products. This has unleashed unbearable hardship on the people of the state.

The scarcity, which resurfaced last week, has remained unabated and has taken a turn for the worse as no filling station in Makurdi town has fuel to dispense to motorists.

At the NNPC Mega-station on the outskirt of Makurdi town, hundreds of motorists formed unending vehicular queues that span over two kilometres along the new Otukpo road, thereby obstructing the free flow of traffic on the highway.
