NIPR Chairman opens PR workshop

The science and arts of the practice of Public Relations is universally accepted to be purely dynamic and therefore, can only favour the practitioners who are proactive to be at par with current trends in the professional practice of the noble trade required by all to survive, grow, make profit, satisfy employee and be socially responsible.

Thus, in alignment with the current Executive Council determination to draw a bar and beat competition in the professional market place, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Lagos State Chapter, led by Barrister Olajide Ologun has concluded arrangement with the chapter’s frontline associate consultants – Whitewater Limited and Vinakom Associates to host a 2-Day Public Relations Management Workshop with the Theme: Developing and Managing a Public Relations programme on target at the Centre For Management Development (CMD), Shangisha, Lagos

In response to questions at the Institute’s Secretariat in Lagos during the week, Barrister Ologun stressed the need for Public Relations professionals to train and re-train continuously so that they will not be found wanting in the open market of the business.
He emphasized that when a professional is well trained and he/she knows his/her salt confidence is sure and the creative ability to deliver is guaranteed.

Mr. Vincent Akpan, Principal Consultant, Vinakom Associates representing the consultants said, ‘the course that will cover topics from the Nature of Public Relations work to Public Relations Evaluation: emerging best practice is designed for practitioners who need to sharpen their skills in Public Relations programme development and implementation. ‘It aims to improve their ability to plan, manage resources effectively, and deliver a public relations campaign on target’.
‘It will also provide an opportunity to benchmark against emerging best practice in tune with global standards’.

The Chairman appealed to practitioners who are not duly registered to do so in order to enjoy the full backing of the Institute. He promised to embrace constructive criticism and contribution that will move the Institute forward, project and sustain her as the apex profession required by all to live their pretermined corporate dreams. Barrister Ologun who will declare the event open promised a united, peaceful and prominent NIPR in order to encourage the upcoming and vibrant young practitioners of the new block.
