By Festus Ahon

UGHELLI – Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, has said the decision of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to sack the technocrats in his administration was one of the best decisions ever taken by the governor.

He said the party was not ready to negotiate with any political party to step down for it in the Ughelli South local government council chairmanship election slated for September 26, 2009. Nwaoboshi, who spoke at the weekend during the presentation of the PDP flag to Mr. Dennis Djomah as the party’s flagbearer, said the PDP was ready to take on any political party in the election.

According to him, other aspirants of the party decided to step down in the interest of peaceful co-existence of the party in the area for Mr. Dennis Djomah and expressed optimism that the party would win the council chairmanship election.

Deputy governor of the state, Prof. Amos Utuama, said the party had been working for the development of the area and its citizenry in the last ten years and urged the people to come out enmasse to vote for the PDP in the chairmanship election.

One-time deputy speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Pius Ewherido, Olorogun Taleb Tebite, member of the State House of Assembly representing the area, Chief Emmanuel Aguariavwodo and other leaders of the party also drummed support for the party’s candidate in the election.
