Crisis rocks Ebonyi PPA

By Dennis Agbo

ABAKALIKI—Internal wrangling has creped into the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) in Ebonyi state, as the appointed state chairman, Mr Anselm Enigwe, yesterday allegedly locked-up the Afikpo Road office of the party,shutting-out other members of the party, who
had gathered for a scheduled meeting.

Though when contacted, the state chairman, Mr. Enigwe denied being responsible for closure of the office but the state secretary, Mr Emeka Anosike,  insisted that from available information to them, the chairman,  Mr. Enigwe was responsible for the locking up of the office.

Enigwe,  however,  denied knowledge of any crisis in the state chapter of the party.

Anosike, the party’s secretary, who spoke with newsmen by the party office,  where the party members were loitering, apparently due to the closure of the office, said that he had before the scheduled meeting,  circulated notice of the meeting but was surprised on getting to the office to find it under lock and key, a situation he said was unusual.

Asked if the action was because of the speculation that the meeting was intended to suspend the state chairman, Mr. Enigwe, Anosike said it was not true,  pointing out that the agenda for the meeting was the preparations towards the party’s national convention.

According to Anosike, “the crisis that PPA is having is Ebonyi state is that of leadership.
