Jos – A group of youths in Plateau State, yesterday, staged a peaceful demonstration against the dissolution of the state executive of the party.

The group, led by the party’s youth leader in the Northern Zone Chung Pam, marched along some streets to the state secretariat of the party to register their displeasure.

Pam described the dissolution as in line with those he called enemies of the state out to distract Governor Jonah Jang from his development agenda for the state.

According to him, “there is no faction in the Plateau PDP to warrant the decision to dissolve an elected exco. The party is enjoying peace and calm despite the claim by a few individuals in an effort to be accorded the status of a faction.”

Pam, therefore, called on President Umaru Yar’Adua who is the leader of the PDP in the country to make the National Working Committee  (NWC) reverse the dissolution and allow the Prof. Dakum Shown-led executive restore peace to the party.

Their counsel, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) said his clients went to court to challenge the dissolution out of respect for the Rule of Law.

However, the committee was inaugurated, yesterday, in Abuja by the Natioanl Chairman of the party Chief Vincent Ogbulafor stabilise the party.
