Ogbulafor sues for peace in Imo PDP

By Chidi Nkwopara

Owerri – The National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, has appealed to the warring members of the party in Imo state to sheath their swords and provide an enabling environment for Governor Ikedi Ohakim to excel in his constitutional assignment.

Prince Ogbulafor made the appeal when he addressed loyal party members at Government House, Owerri.

“Peace is pre-requisite for development. You must all help in creating the enabling environment for the Governor to excel. What the electorates need most is the provision of basic amenities like functional healthcare, potable water, sound education, good roads, among others”, Ogbulafor said.

He disclosed that his major assignment was to return the states in the South East to PDP family, pointing that all hands must be on deck to actualize the goal.

Speaking also, a PDP chieftain, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, appealed to the party loyalists to be cautious of their utterances, as it could mar the gains of democracy, which the state garnered in the past 10 years.

In his contribution, the pioneer state chairman of Imo PDP, Chief Innocent Nwoga, said the state government needs encouragement to perform optimally, and pleaded with the national leadership of the party to consult with party members in the state on important issues.

Responding, Governor Ohakim reiterated his willingness to resolve all outstanding issues with a view to moving the state forward.

While giving approval to “operation capture the South East”, Ohakim however, warned that no one should dictate what happens in Imo state from outside as only Imo people have such right.
