Anyim tasks Ebonyi natives on good conduct

Abakaliki – Former  Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim has charged the people of his home state, Ebonyi  to be good ambassadors of the state in whatever field they find themselves and strive to always make the best out their chosen professions.

Senator Anyim spoke in a dinner in honour of Colonel Obi Umahi, elder brother to the Ebonyi state chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dave Umahi, who graduated from Course 17 of the National Defence College.

The former Senate President described Colonel as a gentleman and a thorough military officer with several sterling qualities, who had remained a good ambassador of Ebonyi state and should be emulated.

Anyim said that leaders like Colonel Umahi should always strive to position themselves as models that the up-coming ones would emulate.

The dinner attracted senior military officers and leading politicians from Ebonyi state including, Ebonyi State House of Assembly Speaker, Austin Nwankwagu,  Brigadier General Agha Oko, Senator Azu Agboti, former Minister of State for Finance, Engr. Elias Mba, members of House of Representatives, Mr Darlignton Okereke and Mrs Florence Ogbaga, and a member PDP Board of Trustees, Mrs Patience Ogodo, among others.

Speaker Nwankwagu said that Ebonyi state, though one of the youngest in the country has grown rapidly in different areas, noting that the emergence of Col. Umahi as the 3rd Overall Best Graduate of Course 17 and the best in Infantry was an honour to the state.
