Corporate bodies in the country have been urged to emulate the contribution of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to the well-being of youths at orientation camps.

This call came from the NYSC Enugu State coordinator, Alhaji AbdulGani Olota during the Fayrouz pavilion, adding that the Nigerian Breweries Plc is a shining example of a great agent of positive change in the society through its Fayrouz NYSC camp activities across the country.

The State Coordinator noted that Nigerian Breweries has contributed immensely to the social life of Corps members in the camp through the activities of Fayrouz by creating an atmosphere of peace and fun to make the stay of Corpers in the camp a memorable experience.

Speaking through the Camp Director of the Enugu State NYSC, Pastor Mike Amolo, at the Agwu Local Government Secretariat permanent camp of the NYSC on Saturday, the State Coordinator noted that the Fayrouz pavilion has become a meeting point for corps members to socialise in the camp. ”They (Corps members) go there and in the course of doing that, they get to know each other better without getting intoxicated.” he said.

Describing the Fayrouz pavilion as the fun spot in the camp, the State Coordinator, noted that Fayrouz has in the process enhanced the major plank upon which the whole NYSC scheme was built.”The essence of the scheme is for young Nigerians from different parts of the country to come together to know one another better for the development of the country; and that is exactly what Fayrouz is trying to achieve here”.

According to the NYSC boss, corps members both male and female have found Fayrouz pavilion most attractive due to the consumer promotion where buyers of a bottle of the product win valuable prizes.

As a non-alcoholic drink, he said, “with Fayrouz, we don’t have problem of intoxication and therefore, their (NB Plc) contribution is positive. I don’t have fear that Corps members are staying there. They dance; drink and we don’t have to worry about intoxication and its attendant problems”

Alhaji Olota added that Nigerian Breweries also contributed to the economic well-being of the state NYSC through the token it paid for Fayrouz participation in the camp activities, adding that it was however, a symbiotic relationship between the NYSC and Nigerian Breweries, stressing that the company is making huge sale in the camp.

She however, urged other corporate organisations to emulate Nigerian Breweries by partnering with the NYSC to make the one- in- a- life -time NYSC Orientation a worth-while experience for the corps members.

She noted that prizes won at the Fayrouz pavilion were not exclusive to corps members, stressing that she and many staff members of the NYSC also won fabulous prizes during the on-going consumer promo at the Fayrouz pavilion.

“We commend Nigerian Breweries and Fayrouz for identifying with the aspiration and objective of the camp”, she said.
A corps member, Okungbowa Paul, described the Fayrous as “a unique non-alcoholic drink that gives you the pleasure of a matured mind.

He added that “as a Christian, I don’t take alcohol but each time I drink Fayrouz the golden foam gives a blend of sensation of foaming drink and beverage; but it doesn’t contain alcohol. It’s like taking a Champaign. That’s the beauty of Fayrouz.’

He disclosed that he had visited the Fayrouz pavilion only six times; and had won prizes four times. “I’ve won a bag, a pen, a big writing pad and free digital photograph”

Fayrouz is partnering with the NYSC in four states; Enugu, Lagos, Kaduna and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in making the regimented life at the NYSC camp fun-filled for corps members.

Sales promo is concurrently going on at the four locations with the premium soft drink actively taking part in putting together a memorable Miss NYSC Beauty contest at the camps with mouth-watering gifts for winners.

Senior Brand Manager, Ferrous, Ita Bassey  explained that first prize of 16G Apple iphone would go to the winner of the contest in each of the four locations, adding that a TV set goes to the first runner-up while a Refrigerator and a DVD Player would go to both the third and fourth runners-up respectively. He added that several consolation prizes would be given out to other contestants.
