THE Coordinator of Ijaw Monitoring Group, Comrade Joseph Evah, has described the wives of Mr. Henry Okah and Dokubo Asari Dokubo as a blessing to the Niger Delta struggle.
He made the remark when the leader of of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger-Delta (MEND), Mr. Henry Okah, and his lawyer, Mr. Wilson Ajuwa, paid him a courtesy call at the Bayelsa State Lodge in Abuja after Okah’s release from prison.
Earlier, the leader of MEND, Henry Okah told the Niger Delta activist that he was grateful to God for keeping him alive to see freedom because of the condition in which he was detained.
According to him: “I am here to thank you for all your effort in the Niger Delta struggle even before the struggle took violent dimension and everybody knows that your voice represents the Niger Delta struggle and it is important I have to come before you to salute your courage.â€
In his reply, Evah told the MEND leader that he is lucky to have a wife who has the same passion like him for the Niger Delta.
“Your wife’s passion for our suffering in the region despite the fact that she is not an Ijaw woman is amazing.
She was vocal about your passion for justice and equity and her belief that God must save you to take the glory was unshaken.
In fact, your wife and Dokubo Asari’s wife, Daba are wonderful women and God gave these wives to people like you and Asari for a purpose.
These two women were very close to me throughout their husbands’ detention for us to plan and also to boldly add voice against the injustice and they made our people all over the world proud,†Evah said.
