2010: ANPP guber candidate vows to tackle insecurity in Anambra

By Vincent Ujumadu

AWKA—RECENTLY nominated governorship candidate of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in next year’s election in Anambra state, Chief Mike Ejezie has said that ensuring security of lives and property would be his priority if elected, as it is only in a secure atmosphere that the economy of the state could thrive.

Speaking after receiving the party’s flag in Awka, Ejezie who was the chairman of the ANPP in the state before his nomination, described as unacceptable, the frightening security situation in the state, which has caught the attention of the entire country.

“We are living  in very  difficult times. Never has our state and its citizens, at home and in Diaspora, been so gripped with fear and a sense of insecurity since its inception, with our collective heritage tottering on the brink of total collapse like we are witnessing today.

The danger to private citizens has increased double fold and this is as a result of the non-inclusive attitude of government in moderating security issues in the state and the distancing actions of the present administration from the realities of the people’s security needs.

“The growing menace in our state is safety, personal safety to lives and property in homes, churches, on playgrounds and places of business, particularly in our cities,” he said.
