Last week, we learnt about how to access the treasures in the Word of God. As I conclude this teaching, I want to show you why you need revelation. I will also teach on the virtues of revelation.
You need revelation: Not every key can open a door. Until you have the right key, you don’t have access to the door. Revelation is hearing from God through His Word. Revelation is the cure for all tears. It is the bedrock upon which every revolution is built. You need revelation, if you must be relevant to your world! Without revelation, weeping, groaning and frustration in life are inevitable. The opening of the scriptures to us through revelation decorates our future (Revelation 5:4-5). It terminates our sorrows and dignifies our destinies. It provokes supernatural turn-around also. The Word of God says:
“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.” (Matthew 7:24). The Word of God is the rock. It is the only sure ground upon which to build your dreams and aspirations. You may have dreamnt of being the head of the establishment where you work. That is a good dream covered by the Word of God, which says: “And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath…” (Deuteronomy 28:13).
But God’s Word says: “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” (Proverbs 22:29). So, your dream of getting to the top may never be fully realized, if all you are doing is merely wishing, and not working. There is no cheap way to the top. But if you follow the scriptural provisions for getting to the top, nothing can stop your success.
What revelation does is to help you locate instructions from scriptures that will enhance the realization of your dreams. But you have a responsibility to stand firmly with what God has said concerning you in His Word. This is applicable to every other venture you might be engaged in. Revelations from scriptures form the supernatural reinforcement for your dreams. When you adhere strictly to them, you are set for outstanding success. The use of revelation is not limited to pastors or evangelists alone. Even if you are a policeman, soldier, businessman, teacher, driver, petty trader, journalist, banker, student, mechanic, whatever, you are free to engage the key of revelation, if you must soar high as the eagle in your career. You need great revelations to match your great future! So, it is not enough to have an imagination, you must also endeavour to have sound revelation to match!
The virtues of revelation: Revelation infuses divine nature: When the great and precious promises of scriptures enter into a man (by supernatural understanding), they impart on the person the nature of God. The Bible says:
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (II Peter 1:4). Divine nature can only be infused into a man when he grasps the mysteries of the Word. (John 10:35). The Bible tells us that God is a Spirit. (John 4:24) and His Word is also Spirit (John 6:63). Therefore, when God’s Word enters you, the Spirit of the Lord enters you thereby imparting you with His nature.
2. Revelation terminates tears (Revelation 5:4-5). When God gives you a revelation in any area of your life that you have a problem, the problem will be over! 3. Revelation provokes sanctification (John 17:17; 15:3). Whoever is born of God does not sin because the seed of God (the Word of God) is in him or her. When you have His Word, then you are free from sin.
4. Revelation provokes faith. No one doubts what he can see. What revelation does is to make you go beyond hearing, causing you to see. When you see, doubt dies (Psalm 119:18). Every man of revelation is a man of faith, and every man of faith is more than a conqueror. This is because he can quench all the fiery darts of the enemy.
5. Revelation boosts destiny. In Genesis 13:14-15, God told Abraham to look, and God gave to him all that he saw. Destiny is a function of revelation. This is because you can only go as far as you can see. You can only take delivery of the inheritance you can see (Acts 20:32). 6. Revelation guarantees supernatural wealth (Job 22:21-25). Every true wealth is a product of the revelation of the covenant of abundance. 7. Revelation guarantees your dominion on earth. No matter how dark it may be, when light comes, darkness can’t stop light from shining (Psalm 119:130).
That means when the truth is unfolded, light is infused. When light is infused, your dominion over darkness is established. 8. Revelation enhances divine health; it also provokes signs and wonders.
Friend, the grace to benefit from these virtues is available if you are connected to God. You get connected by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If you are set for it, please say this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Today, Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me! Now I know, I am born again!” I invite you to come and fellowship with us at the Faith Tabernacle, Canaan Land, Ota, the covenant home of winners.
