By Anayo Okoli

Umuahia—THE Abia state House of Assembly yesterday completed the screening of the Commissioner nominees sent to them by Governor Theodore Orji.

Among those that came for the final screening was Mr. John Nwokocha, an Assistant Editor with Vanguard, who after answering questions on Nigeria’s re-branding project and how he will manage the state image, seemed to have impressed the House members who gave him some sort of commendation.

With yesterday’s exercise, the 18 nominees have all been screened and the House will in due course submit its result to the Governor, who will inaugurate the nominees and assign them portfolios.

Orji who dissolved his cabinet in March sent the 18 nominees to the House to enable him reconstitute his cabinet. Among the nominees are some people who served in the dissolved cabinet. And they include Chief Johnny Ukpabi and Prince Emeka Okafor.

Meanwhile, his Clerk of the House, Mazi Orie Orji has retired from the service of the state. He was yesterday replaced by Mr. Don Pedro, who now serves as the Acting Clerk of the House.
