Ogaga Favour, a top media personality, TV presenter, writer, radio host and media consultant is known for reporting human angle stories and issues about young women on both radio and TV shows. Her column also endears her to people who see her as unrelenting and a die-hard activist for the cause of women.
Recently, she spoke passionately on why she remains focused on the cause of women.
According to her, her main objective was to support the African Woman, showcase her achievements, lend a voice to the voiceless woman, while encouraging her to develop herself. Favour is poised to also bring to expose, through her programmes, every injustice perpetuated on the woman.
“I am very passionate about issues affecting the African Woman, the challenges, struggles and injustice she faces. I know what it means to be a victim of injustice. It is my hope to see the average African Woman treated with respect, love and care. I am willing to go to any length for the voiceless woman on the streets. It is my desire that all women succeed in all spheres of life.
“This is why I write and blog about woman, my radio show is about woman and also the TV show which I co-anchor, (Voice of Eve) is also about the woman. It is all about women empowerment, enlightenment, reorientation and absolute belief in herself that she can go places if only she chooses to.” “My goal is to go beyond borders and reach out to women all over Africa through the media eyes, proffering support where needed to the woman out there, who is presently going through difficult times, with the help of well meaning Organizations, Government and Individuals who are willing to champion this cause.” Ogaga plans to set up a foundation soon where young ladies can be trained and groomed to believe in themselves, work hard and be totally committed to whatever they set their minds to do, so that they can be established in good time.
This tenacious lady, with zero tolerance for indolence, says she is totally committed to whatever she sets her mind to do. According to her, she rather invest in books than clothes. Yet, she is a lady with a fantastic dress sense, style and class, as she is fondly called “Fashionista” by friends and “Always looking good” by colleagues. Ogaga can easily be identified for her elegant walk, carriage and poise.
On some of her media works that have impacted in the lives of people, Ogaga says:
“In June 2014, I did a story on indiscriminate disposal of waste in Warri and its Environs including Asaba, the State capital. This led to a massive cleaning movement by the state government tagged “Operation keep Warri clean”. By extension, it also led to a major demolition exercise and also the evacuation of caravans and other items that made the community untidy.
I also did another report on illegally occupied structure which was originally meant for the Internally Displaced Persons (Flood Victims). I noticed that after the IDPs returned to their location, some hoodlums took over the property located on Okpanam road, Asaba beside The Cenotaph.
I considered this very unfair and I took it upon myself and did a report which led the State Government to take a swift action, demolishing the structure and ridding the place off hoodlums who had made it their hide-out.
Favour Ogaga was trained as a presenter at the Television Training Academy, Pinewood studios,UK s: “I love God and I genuinely believe that without God, one cannot attain anything in life. My philosophy is looking into Jesus alone and enjoying life to the fullest.
