ABUJA – In apparent move to resolve the logjam on the 2016 Budget, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara on Tuesday met with President Mohammadu Buhari.
Vanguard had exclusively reported that such meeting would hold.
The Senate President, Mr. Bukola Saraki was however absent at the brief meeting that held at the presidential Villa, Abuja.
Joined in the meeting were the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Ita Enag.
State House Correspondents who were eager to hear words from the Speaker after the meeting that held behind closed doors were however denied access to him as the gate leading to the office of the President after the Council Chambers was locked.
Kyari who was approached by Reporters later said that the Speaker could not have spoken as it was only him that came.
He submitted that the Heads of the two chambers of the National Assembly needed to be present.
The SA to the President on National Assembly Matters, Enang also refused to comment on the matter.
