Six hundred graduates of the Graduate Internship Scheme, GIS, were handed their tools yesterday in Port Harcourt to develop their career.
Director of GIS in the Federal Ministry of Finance, Mr Peter Papka urged the graduands to make use of the opportunities offered by the scheme.
Represented by Mr Paul Ogbu the Director, GIS said they had been faced with funding challenges, adding that 31,781 companies were part of the internship training program for graduates.
Adepogu Adewunmi, one of the facilitators of the program said the whole essence of the program was to make graduates self reliant.
He said his accounting firm had recruited eleven of the graduates. He further commended the interns for their commitment to the program, saying they were wiling to learn.
