PORT HARCOURT— Rivers Ijaw Peoples Forum has said that people of the state voted overwhelmingly for Chief Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, adding that falsehood and propaganda cannot wish away the people’s mandate.

Faulting the tribunal judgement which nullified Wike’s election, Chairman of the forum, Chief Ferdinand Alabraba, in a statement, yesterday, said a re-run election should not be contemplated in the state because the general election was free and fair.

The group said the decision of the governor to challenge the tribunal verdict was in order, adding that the Appeal Court would unseat the verdict of the tribunal.
